Aris runs on an internal rechargeable battery, so the lamp is not tied to an outlet. It can sit on a desk during the day, move to a bedside at night, and go out to a table on the porch, all without a cord, an extension lead, or a socket dictating where light is allowed to fall.

Touch dimming is built into the body of the lamp. A single surface controls brightness across three color temperatures, so the same fixture handles a warm low glow for evening and a cooler, brighter setting for close work. There is no separate switch, no remote to lose, and no wall dimmer to install.
