Meadow runs on a 12V low voltage supply, which is the practical difference between a light you can place yourself and one that needs an electrician. Low voltage cable can be run along a bed or under mulch on a transformer circuit, so a path can be lit, extended, or rearranged without opening up mains wiring.

The insert base pushes into soil rather than mounting to a hard surface, which suits borders, lawn edges, and planted beds where the position may change as the planting fills in. The fixture is IP65 rated and anti rust treated, so it stays sealed through rain, irrigation, and freeze cycles at ground level, where fixtures take the most abuse.

The optic throws bright, even illumination across a wide area rather than a narrow beam, which is what makes it useful for covering distance along a path or washing a planted border. The LED draw is low enough that several fixtures can share a single run.
